Fashion & Textiles Museum…
Over my Birthday weekend I visited the Fashion & Textiles museum. It was originally set up by Zandra Rhodes, the exhibition on at the moment was Catwalk to Cover, a front row seat. All about fashion photography at catwalk shows, about celebrities sitting in the front row. People behind setting up the show and all the work that goes into it, street style photography outside the show. It had something for all of us, my Dad & Dave liked the photography, my step mom Judy liked the textiles and I liked it all but my favorite was celeb spotting in the photos and there was also a section on street style and blogging, with how magazines have to be online and that we can blog about the catwalk shows before it’s even over. I love how fashion has changed and that I can be apart of it by blogging.

The Checked Coat…

This is my new vintage coat, we found it in Brick Lane and quickly snapped it up. Dave’s given it me as my Birthday present and I love it! Over my birthday weekend, we did lots and lots. Visited the Fashion & Textile museum, went to Brick Lane and mooched around all the stalls, went into lots of camera shops and had milkshakes. I’m still recovering from all the walking about we did, plus i’ve had a stinky cold.
For my coat’s first outing I decided to go for a tonal outfit, with lots of shades of brown. As I must admit these kind of outfits are my favorite. I love the right tones of browns within the coat, the bag and my loafers. Plus my hair is becoming a lot more red with each wash.

High Summer 2012
Earlier in the week I popped along to the High Summer 2012 press day for Bertie, Dune, Pied A Terre and Head Over Heels. Here are some snaps from the show room and my favorites, I love those loafer above and the boat shoes below.
Love these green loafers, they’d be a fun summer shoe indeed.
Lots of yummy treat and things to drink, I had myself a pink lemonade. Lots of nibbles on sweeties too. Plus how cute are those mini shoes!!
Any of these take your fancy?
Girl In The Snow…

This dress is one of my new treats I brought while back in Birmingham, and the blouse underneath is from a charity shop from back home to which I got a while back but hadn’t worn it before. I really liked this dress, the print and silhouette were great but felt the neck line was to high. I think I’d like to add a lace trim but until I get round to that this blouse does the trick nicely! I also picked up this belt from the vintage store, it’s nice to have another tan belt to add to my collection. Save’s wearing the same one over and over!

My Birthday Dress…
This is what I wore for my birthday on Saturday, I got it from Cow vintage while back home and it’s perfect, when trying it on I showed Caz and she said it’s like it was designed just for me! I’m wearing pretty much vintage apart from my shoes, I’ve had this bag for a number of years (8 years I think). I got it from Portobello road and I still love it as much as I did the day I brought it. I seam to buy good vintage bits and keep them for years. Same goes for the coat I’ve had that years. I’m also wearing my heeled brogues, I was very proud of myself being able to wear them for the whole day walking around London. I made a little more effort as it was my birthday, it was nice dusting off my bag and taking it out and trotting around in my little heeled brogues. If you know me these are the highest shoes I own, I don’t do heels and I know these aren’t real heels but to me they are.

6/52
I spent today walking around Liverpool Street and Brick Lane. Looking at vintage stalls, taking photos and I snapped this on the way back to the tube. It’s been a fun and very busy weekend with it being my Birthday, my Dad visiting and lots of exploring the city. I have lots of photos to share with you but for now here is 6/52, why not go check out my other photos from my project 52.
Like Old Times…

I went back home to Birmingham for a couple of days, it was really nice to catch up with family and friends. I got to see Caroline, it was like old times as we visited the vintage store (I got some great treats). We then headed to my old flat which my sister lives in now and by my old flat is this warehouse which Dave and I really miss. I couldn’t pass up the chance to take some snaps in here. Even though it was freezing, it was worth it. As we now live in South West London, there’s nothing like this around our area and this warehouse is one thing we really miss about living in Birmingham!
Wore my daisy dress and blouse combo, which I love and always feel good in. I’m also obsessed with navy and burgundy colours at the moment. I’m really glad I brought this scarf as I love it with this coat, I feel like Paddington Bear.

What I’m wearing -

Caz and I often came into this warehouse to do outfit photos and it was just like old times. It was lots of fun and great to catch up with her. I loved her bold tights and how they match her hair! Her office boots are a gem too and I wish I had her legs so I could pull of such high boots!

Heading Home…
I’m heading home to Birmingham to visit my family for a couple of days. It’s my Birthday this weekend so I’m jumping on the train home to see everyone and start celebrate my birthday a little bit early. I’m really looking forward to seeing my mother! I’m also hoping to visit my favorite vintage store too, fingers crossed I’ll have time to find a birthday dress!
